How to use the SIC Code Finder
Start by describing what your company actually does. You can also enter a 5-digit SIC code if you want to check its description.
The finder searches the condensed SIC 2007 codes currently used by Companies House and gives you the closest matches. A limited company can use more than one code where necessary, but you should choose only codes that genuinely describe its business activities.
SIC descriptions can be broad and the right code depends on the activities of the individual company. Before incorporating a company or submitting a confirmation statement, check your chosen code against the
official Companies House SIC list.
